The People’s Music School

Returning Student Registration

The People’s Music School divides its year into three different sessions, Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer. At the beginning of each session, students have the opportunity to enroll in the School, either as a returning student or a new student.

New Student Registration

Three times a year, new students have the opportunity to enroll in the School on “New Student” registration day. These days are typically on a Saturday in January, May, and September (please check with School staff for specifics). New student registration is on a first-come, first served basis, and the line usually forms many hours in advance of when the doors open. Each person in line is eligible to register up to two people total. Starting Summer 2008, new students enter into the program based on the following age groupings: ages 5 - 7, ages 8 - 12, ages 13 and over. On the day of registration, applications are accepted until all available spaces in each age group are filled. Please check with staff prior to new student registration day to find out how many spots are available in each age group.

Once you have enrolled as a student of the People’s Music School, you are eligible to continue studying at the School indefinitely, as long as you have fulfilled all of your student requirements. (Please refer to page 10 of this handbook for requirements specifics.) At the beginning of each session, every student is issued a “student packet.” This packet contains your student handbook, parking permit, calendar, and perhaps most importantly, your “student membership card.”
